Ladies Ride

Yes, that’s right, we are doing our regular ladies ride this Sat Sept 15th. We start at 10am, club will provide FREE lunch around 1p or 1:15p if you are interested. Big, Fat Trail Maintenance Extraveganza

This Sat and Sunday we are working on building the new DERM trail  (that’s the part of the land that faces the port).  The fact that the city and DERM trust us is a big win!  We cannot use big machinery for this trail. All hand built so we needs LOTS OF LABOR.  If you have never come out before, now’s the time.  We start WORKING at 10am.  We’ll feed you around 1p or 1:30p.  Please RSVP on facebook if you can..

Big wins for your club

1. We are doing the DERM trail!
2. We got our 501c approval from the IRS.  Means we don’t have to pay sales tax, your donations are tax deductible and it makes us eligible for more grants.  Yeah Dario!
3. We got the parks department to quickly correct the Labor Day $8 fiasco.
4. We have petitioned the city of Miami commisioners to offer free entrance to the trails (and the gate) on Nov 4^th (day 2 of our cyclocross/mt bike race extraveganza)
5. We got the parks department to waive our fees for our fundraising races
6. We are working with the City of Miami mounted (horse) police.  They are actually pretty reasonable!

Night Ride

Yep- It’s night ride time again, it’s going to be Friday September 21st  Gather at 7:00pm. EVERYBODY MUST BE OUT BY 10pm.  Parks department MAY BE OUT THERE so be sure to smile and be polite. Questions?  Contact me at jvoss@jvossman.com, 305-491-7159. Veteran rider Kenny Strong is in charge.

·       First rule of night ride – we don’t talk about night ride in social media. Some people are riding at night at Vkey when they aren’t supposed to, which hurts riders and trail access/development. We don’t want people to think they can ride out there anytime they want. The city will eventually get to locking the gate at night and putting up signs that talk about park hours, but till then…

·       Second rule – SAFETY FIRST. Respect and obey Night Ride Leader at all times. You must have helmet, proper lights, etc. (I have sometimes had an extra light for someone). Night Ride Leader (NRL) reserves the right to prevent anyone from going into the trails if there is a safety concern.  Your NRL is Kenny Strong.  Thanks guys!

Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day

Your new prez, Tom Siddons, is heading this up for October 6^th.  Free for kids, we are going to have Tshirts and stuff courtesy Mack cycles.  We will have a BBQ and even build a special little trail for the younger kids to have fun.

Cyclocross/MT Bike race

November 3/4^th.  Its our big fundraiser of the year, we need your help.  NOW is the time to tell your wife/boss/family that you need that weekend free to race/ride/volunteer. Details to come….
